1K a year 20 hours ago 20 hours ago 20 hours ago The Housing Choice Voucher Occupancy Specialist (Occupancy Specialist) assists residents and applicants of the HCV program to determine the eligibility of individuals and families for low income housing and the HCV rental assistant program, with the goal of achieving maximum residency.
The Occupancy Specialist also works to establish and maintain working relationships with government officials, residents, the general public, and colleagues.
Responsibilities include:
Scheduling appointments and interviewing participants who are scheduled for re-certification of eligibility of HCV program.
Determining initial and continued eligibility.
Explaining program and eligibility requirements to tenants and applicants.
Computing federal share of rent and calculating rent and utility payments.
Preparing monthly payments for check preparation.
Creating and maintaining files, to include:
ensuring all documents are signed and dated by proper party and ensuring compliance with HUD requirements.
Acting as a mediator between HCV landlords and tenants as needed.
Successfully completing professionally recognized training programs in rental assistance occupancy work within the first year of employment Job Type:
